In 2013, Grim Oak Press published Unfettered: The Phoenix Comicon Exclusive, an edition of the award-winning anthology that only featured short stories by authors who were attending that convention. It resulted in an anthology that people could buy and get multi-signed by Terry Brooks, Kevin Hearne, Peter Orullian, Brandon Sanderson, and Shawn Speakman. It is now regarded by collectors as one of the most difficult Grim Oak Press books to find.

Since launching the first volume at Dragonsteel Nexus 2024, Grim Oak Press has published two more Grimoire anthologies, each one selling out almost immediately and being praised by readers and contributors alike. The experience of a reader searching for the writers to get signatures is a fun one; the experience of the author talking to more potential readers is always rewarding. Grimoire helps bridge the two together, a magic that is all-too real.
